Session on Combating Climate Change; Collective Responsibility
BNU in collaboration with Go Green Welfare Society organized a session on “Combating Climate Change; Collective Responsibility” followed by a Tree Plantation Drive on campus and adjoining housing estates. The event was supported by WWF Pakistan, Ali Akbar Group, Kohat Cement and Sockoye. The session was moderated by Project Head Tree Plantation Drive at Go Green Welfare Society, Ms. Samra Asad and the panel comprised of CEO, WWF Pakistan, Mr. Hammad Naqi Khan, Member of Provincial Assembly of the Punjab and Director of Ali Akbar Group, Mr. Bilal Akbar, Founder/ CEO Go Green Welfare Society, Ms. Aasma Farhad and Mr. Zaeem Yaqoob Khan. The panel talk was attended by students, faculty and staff to collectively explore the issues relating to deforestation and climate change and the role individuals can play in dealing with the associated challenges.
Upon conclusion, a tree plantation drive was inaugurated on the campus where guests along with students planted saplings across campus.
The tree plantation drive will continue until end of the month.
