Young artists received accolades at SVAD Degree Show
Mariam Dawood School of Visual Arts and Design (SVAD), Beaconhouse National University organized its annual degree show of the graduating batch of 2017 from 22-29 April, 2017. The exhibition featured works of around 72 students graduating in Bachelor's of Fine Arts - Visual Arts, Bachelor's of Design - Visual Communication Design, Bachelor of Design - Textile and Fibre Studies Bachelor's of Design - Fashion and Fibre Studies and Bachelor's of Design in Jewelry and Accessory Design.
The degree show was inaugurated by veteran painter, art critic, writer and teacher, Mian Ijaz ul Hassan. Present on the occasion were Vice Chancellor BNU Mr. Shahid Hafiz Kardar, Dean SVAD Mr. Rashid Rana and SVAD faculty members.
The week-long thesis exhibition was attended by a large number of students, art academics, artists and art enthusiasts from across various institutions of Lahore. The visitors appreciated students’ cutting-edge and innovative artwork. The graduating students thanked their teachers and mentors for inspiring them and giving them the freedom to explore their creative side.
This is the eleventh batch of students graduating from SVAD. Through their impressive work, these graduates have made the institution proud and raised the bar higher for others. We like to wish them all the best and hope that they will contribute to the progress of Pakistan’s art scene.
