  • Mr. Shahid Hafiz Kardar

    Vice Chancellor

    Beaconhouse National University, Lahore

    Mr. Shahid Hafiz Kardar is an ACA from England and a graduate of the University Of Oxford (PPE). He has served as the Governor, State Bank of Pakistan and Minister for Finance, Planning & Development, Excise and Taxation and Industries & Minerals Development, Government of Punjab (1999-2001). He had also held several other key positions including a member of the National Commission for Government Reform, Banking Laws Review Commission, Task Force on Education established by the Government of Pakistan and the British Government, Honorary Treasurer of the Human Rights Commission of Pakistan (HRCP). He has also served as a Chairman of the Punjab Education Foundation that launched internationally acknowledged programs. Mr. Kardar has also provided consultancy services to multilateral and bilateral donors like the World Bank and the Asian Development Bank. He is the son of former test cricket captain Abdul Hafiz Kardar. He has authored three books and contributes to journals and newspapers regularly.

  • Dr. Hafiz Pasha

    Professor Emeritus & Head Center for Public Policy

    Beaconhouse National University, Lahore

    Dr. Pasha has remained Dean of the School of Liberal Arts & Social Sciences and Vice Chairman of the Institute of Public Policy at BNU until 2013. He has served as Chairman of the Advisory Panel of Economists to the Planning Commission, Convener of the Economic Advisory Council of the Prime Minister of Pakistan and Chairman of the Tax Advisory Council of Federal Board of Revenue.

    From 2001 to 2007, Dr. Pasha was UN Assistant Secretary General and Director of the Regional Bureau for Asia and the Pacific of UNDP. Dr. Pasha has held a number of important public appointments including the Federal Commerce Minister, Federal Minister for Finance and Economic Affairs, Deputy Chairman/Federal Minister of the Planning Commission, and Education Minister in three governments. He has also been the Vice Chancellor of the University of Karachi, Dean and Director of the Institute of Business Administration, Karachi, and Research Professor and Director of the Applied Economics Research Centre, Karachi.

    Dr. Pasha has a M.A. from Cambridge University, U.K and PhD from Stanford University, U.S.A. He was awarded in 2005 the Congressional Medal of Achievement by the Philippines Congress.

    In 2012, he received the Engro Lifetime Achievement Award for excellence in the field of Social Sciences. He has published over 150 books and articles in the fields of governance, public finance, urban and regional economics, poverty and social development, industry, energy, economics etc.

     

  • Mr. Ijaz Hussain

    Ijaz Hussain is an Associate Member of the Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Pakistan and also a graduate from Government College University, Lahore. He joined School of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences at Beaconhouse National University in 2007. He has 20 years of teaching, research and administrative experience in reputed academic and research institutions of both private and public sectors. His areas of interest include Economics, Accounting and Finance.

  • Dr. Zaryab Sheikh

    Assistant Professor

    Dr. Zaryab Sheikh has thirteen years of diversified work experience both in academics and the corporate sector. He is a post-doctoral fellow and holds Ph.D. in Business Administration (Majors: Digital Marketing). He also holds MS in Business Process and Supply Chain Management from Linnaeus University, Sweden. Dr. Sheikh has published his research work in top-ranked journals such as Telematics and Informatics, Young Consumers, Journal of Adolescence, British Food Journal, and others. His areas of interest include social media, social networking sites’ role in business, online consumer behavior/internet-commerce, social commerce, consumer socialization, supply chain management, outsourcing, and materialism. He has also presented his research work at different international conferences in USA, UAE and Thailand. Dr. Sheikh is a regular reviewer of research articles for ranked journals such as Computers in Human Behavior, Journal of Asia Business Studies, International Journal of E-Business Research and others. Dr. Sheikh has been actively involved in curriculum development, course hand book preparation in coordination with Lancaster University, United Kingdom. He has also successfully supervised BBA and MBA final year research projects. Dr. Sheikh has also served as external examiner for MS final thesis defense in different universities.

  • Mr. Tariq Maqbool

    Mr. Tariq Maqbool held various senior management, group, and country head level positions at international and local financial intuitions such as ABN AMRO North America, Bank of America, UBS Wealth Management North America, The Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation, USA, HabibMetro Bank, Askari Bank, and Bank of Punjab.

    He recently resigned from Bank of Punjab to pursue his passion for teaching and learning and joined BNU as Assistant Professor in January 2016. Mr. Tariq started his banking career with ABN AMRO USA in 1997 and worked at middle and senior management levels and left the organization in 2005 to serve as Senior Consultant at Morgan Stanley, USA, and then joined the Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation, USA. Before moving to Pakistan in 2008, he served as Director Risk & Quality Assurance at UBS Wealth Management North America.

    In Pakistan he joined Askari Bank Ltd as Executive Vice President and Country Head Risk Management in 2008, and then moved to Pakistan Credit Rating Agency (PACRA) to establish advisory arm, the PACRA Analytics Pvt Ltd to provide advisory services to Banking and Corporate clients on Risk Management, Regulatory Compliance, Corporate Governance, and Policy issues. Joined HabibMetro Bank in 2010 and served as EVP and Country Head Risk and Country Head Compliance. Joined BoP in 2011 and served as EVP and CRO, GH Compliance & Internal Controls, and GH SAM.

    Mr. Tariq Received a Master degree in Economics from BZU Pakistan, an MSc in Applied Economics and an MSc in Management Information System from USA. He attended Executive Education Programs at Columbia Business School, New York, Kellogg Business School, Chicago, University of Chicago Business School, Chicago, ICMA Centre, The Business School for Financial Markets, University of Reading, UK, Loyola University School of Business, Chicago, and also received various project management certificates from American Management Association.

  • Mr. Farrukh Karamat

    Assistant Professor

    Mr. Farrukh Karamat is a Britannia Chevening Scholar. He has an MSc in Finance from the Cass Business School, City University, London; and an MBA from the Institute of Business Administration (IBA), Karachi. Mr. Karamat has extensive management, leadership and research experience within the Financial Services sector in the core areas of Corporate and Investment Banking, Equity Research, Risk Management and Compliance across Pakistan, Canada and the United Kingdom. He conducted post-graduate research at the University of Warwick, United Kingdom in the area of Mergers & Acquisitions and Investment Bank Reputation. His teaching interest is in the areas of Economics, Banking and Finance; while his research is focused on Compliance within Banking, Ethics and Corporate Reputation. Mr. Karamat is the Vice President of the IBA (Lahore) Alumni Association.

    Hafsa has done her MPhil in Economics from Lahore School of Economics (LSE). She holds an undergraduate degree of double majors in Economics and Finance from Lahore School of Economics. Her interest are in theoretical modelling, development economics and environmental economics.

    Assistant Professor of Management and MIS

    With over 6 years of teaching experience at secondary, undergraduate and graduate level, Muhammad also holds vast industrial experience. In his last industrial assignment, he played an instrumental role in strategy formulation and implementation for the third largest dairy firm in UK. His research interests are in the field of human capital and talent management. 

  • Mr. Furqan Asad Suhail 

    Lecturer

    An entrepreneur, financial market enthusiast, and researcher: Furqan Asad has advised investors, managed teams of equity analysts and is a budding behavioral finance researcher. He ventured into independent financial market analysis after graduating from LSE and thereon pursued higher studies in UK and France for his MBA from Aston University with a concentration in Finance and Master of Science in Corporate Finance from EDHEC (ranked no.# 1 in the world for Finance). During his stay in U.K., he was a Strategic Advisor with UK Power Reserve (a private equity-backed company), helping the company in the renewable energy space and consulted on several international projects. He has returned to Pakistan to pursue his long-standing ambition in academics whilst remaining a trusted advisor, market commentator and investor. His research interests include behavioural and corporate finance and he is currently drafting proposals for his doctoral studies

  • Mr. Rizwan Ghani

    Lecturer

    Mr. Rizwan Ghani is ex-GM and Executive Director of Packages. Mr. Rizwan has an extensive experience of 34 years in various areas including management, supply chain, operations and marketing. 
    Mr. Rizwan Ghani started his career at Packages Limited as a Management Trainee in the marketing department after Graduation from Islamabad and a Post Graduate Degree in Business Studies from Farnborough UK in 1982. After serving for 21 years in all the three Marketing offices (Centre, South and North) including a short stint with Tetra Pak Russia, he was promoted as the Head of Marketing. His second assignment was as head of a SBU Folding Carton in 2003. He served the business unit for 5 years in a purely operational environment. In 2009 he moved to Sri Lanka as the Managing Director of a subsidiary of Packages Limited-Lahore, a JV, BOI Company, based near Colombo. He served in this position for four and half years. Mr. Rizwan returned to the parent company in 2014 and was responsible for Marketing and Sales (Flexible Packaging and Folding Cartons) and Supply Chain functions for the entire company. Shortly after that, in September 2014 he took over as Executive Director and General Manger of the company. He retired from Packages Limited in March 2016 after serving Packages Limited for 34 years. He has traveled widely and a speaker at various forums. 

  • Mr. Javed Masood

    Mr. Javed Masood is a graduate from Boston University. He is Ex Chairman, The Pakistan Credit Rating Agency Limited (PACRA). He is senior consultant, researcher and trainer with comprehensive experience of managerial and leadership role in financial and non-financial corporate sector. He has been affiliated with World Bank, IFC & the U.N., the federal ministries of Government of Pakistan (including Planning, Finance & Production), Pakistan’s Consul General in South Korea, Banker’s Equity, NIPA & the Administrative Staff College.

    Mr. Assim Jang is an expert in computational finance. He is member of the Institute of Management Accountants, New Jersey, USA. He is currently independent professional foreign exchange and futures trader with comprehensive experience in capital markets, banking and finance with rich experience in commercial and investment banking, commodity futures exchange, stock brokering and new ventures and technology startup environments.

     

  • Mr. Noshab Ali Khan

    Lecturer

    Mr. Noshab Ali Khan is a practicing lawyer. He is graduated from UK. He is presently senior legal advisor of Pakistan Medical & Dental Council. His work is reported in the leading Law Journals and media especially in the field of Medical Education, Healthcare, Taxation and Public Interest Litigation. As Faculty of Law at BNU, he has earned excellent grading in the internal assessment.
