development and growth in the telecommunication industry has
been so phenomenal over the past few years as to justify a
specialized course for those intending to embark on a career
in this industry. Modern Telecom systems have their roots in
electronics but technologies related to the internet,
computer networks, radio and fiber optic links have
contributed to give Telecom systems their complex and hybrid
shape.
The BSc
(Hons) in Telecom Systems program seeks to build broad
foundations of the discipline so that graduates will be able
to comprehend and appreciate the rapid changes which are
taking place in the industry. The program has a strong
information Technology emphasis as it incorporates the use
of computer software to solve mathematical, control and
signal processing problems.
